Rock Lake United Church Camp Society

STAY TUNED FOR UPCOMING CAMPS 2024/2025

Kid’s Camps

Our co-ed program is designed for campers going into grades 4 – 7 in September of the camp year and are 8 – 12 years of age.

Our program includes activities such as crafts, hiking, swimming and water activity, canoeing, outdoor & indoor games, campfire activities, singing, Bible study times, and many more special surprise events.

Food at Rock Lake Camp is second to none.  For those campers or leaders that require special diets or have food allergies, an alternative menu is offered to ensure that no one goes hungry at camp.

Some dietary restrictions may require supplementary food be sent with the camper.

Our camps are designated as ‘nut free’ to protect our guests who have life-threatening nut allergies.

For those who are interested, the menu for Amazing Dreams can be found by clicking on Camp Menu.  Certain meals are marked with an * – Click Here to see specific 2018 Recipes

DO NOT SEND FOOD WITH CAMPERS UNLESS APPROVED BY THE CAMP DIRECTOR

All of our activities are designed to take advantage of the beautiful Rock Lake Camp setting.  Our hope is that the camping experience will develop lasting friendships, appreciation for all that is in nature, and the understanding of God in His world.  The program is designed and endorsed by the Rock Lake United Church Camp Society specifically to appeal to the ages of our campers.

ALL OF OUR CAMPS FOLLOW THE PRINCIPLES OF Challenge by Choice

Cabin Leader Training Program

The Society’s Cabin Leader Training Program was revised in 2017 after being developed in house from the book, Help! I’m a Camp Counselor.  This program is run in conjunction with our Junior Camp (although Cabin Leader Trainees report to camp one day early) and its intent is to train mature teens to become Cabin Leaders at a future Rock Lake United Church Camp Society`s Junior Camp, although completion of the program could benefit all participants whether they go on to become Cabin Leaders or not.  The program is designed to appeal to mature 14 through 16 year old boys and girls who still like going to camp and express an interest in the course.  British Columbia Camping Association’s Standards mandate that all Cabin Leaders at camp must be minimum of seventeen years old.

Campers may complete the program as many time as they are eligible and desire.  Graduates of this program will be given preference over equally qualified candidates for Cabin Leader positions.

At camp, Cabin Leader Trainees are campers – not leaders – and although they will get specific training in a multitude of areas, regular camp activities will be planned for them and they will not be given supervisory or other leadership responsibilities.
